Design Intent

Our machine has been designed from the ground up to be the machine of the future.  We've used our knowledge from being in the industry for over 25 years (see www.awsbiopharma.com) to build a machine that not only meets the growing need for an aseptically approved production capper, but is also clean, hi-tech, and easy to use

Production Capper for the Aseptic Space

We use a patented process known as hi-speed, electromagnetic forming to seal the vial.  An electromagnetic field is formed around the vial, forcing the seal to wrap under the neck of the vial.  Since there is no physical contact with the seal, no/low particulate is created.

In addition to no particulate being created from the actual sealing of the vial, no damage is caused to the vial itself.  Breaking, chipping, scratches and other rejection criteria are dramatically reduced when compared to traditional capping operations.

New-Technology Applications

Besides our revolution of the capping process methods, we've designed the entire machine to user-friendly, and with technology for the 21st century.

  • Design without Belts: We have designed the MajiCap to run vials using only the starwheel and turn tables.  This greatly reduces the number of wear parts and increases the overall cleanability of surfaces.  Instead, vials are gently floated on a cushion of air across the table.  The air used for this cushion can either be provided as a utility (clean compressed air, often Nitrogen), or the air already in the clean room can be recycled and reused.

  • Removal of Casters:  Instead of installing bulky, dirty, rolling casters, that make the machine difficult to roll, and harder to clean around, we've built in a system of 'air casters'.  These air cushions float the machine across any smooth, clean and finished floor, for easy access to the machine for maintenance, or under the machine for cleaning.

  • Universal Hopper Feeder:  One size fits all!  We've fit a hopper onto our machine that can accomodate any of the 3 main sizes of caps - 13mm, 20mm, and 27mm.  This reduces the number of change parts needed for your stockroom.

More Standard Design Features

  • Short change-over:  With the understanding of the pharmaceutical industry's need for smaller batches and quicker change-over times, we've designed the MajiCap to be changed over in 15 minutes or less (depending on the type of changeover).

  • All materials that come into contact with the vials are either Stainless Steel 316 or 316L(for welded parts)

  • Electronic Control:  Everything from the electronically controlled flow valves, to the innovative stepper motors is fully controlled by the Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1500 and Panelview 900 control panel.
